Project Description

NATO’s New Strategic Concept and the Rationale of the Atlantic Alliance.

Introduction

The rationale behind the activities and approaches of a security community to new or existing threats would be a crucial part of this research. What exactly makes a particular situation a security threat? Could the ways of perceiving security threats have changed over the past few years especially after the 9/11 scenario? This seems to be the issues that would set the foundation for the investigation of the rationale behind NATO’s new strategic concept.

The investigation would apply the securitization theory alongside the realist /constructivist theoretical approach to understand the rationale behind NATO’s new strategic concept.
